Annual Grant Giving - Terms and Conditions
 
Grants
1)Grants are given for capital projects or animal protection projects only.
2)Grants are usually one-off payments.
3)If for any reason a project is not completed as stated in the application, written permission must be obtained from the ADT before the funding can be used for an alternative project.
 
Eligibility
Organisations eligible to apply for grants will be charitable institutions registered in the UK or Eire.
 
Applications
1)Applications should be supported by a copy of the last full year’s accounts, sufficient detail of all direct costs (eg: builders quotations, manufacturer’s price lists etc.) and a copy of the last newsletter.
2)Where an organisation is eligible for VAT relief on equipment purchased, costs should be quoted exclusive of VAT.
3)If planning permission is required to complete a project, then this should have been acquired, at least at outline level, prior to the application being submitted. Please provide evidence of this.
4)The ADT does not give grants for the improvement or construction of buildings where the premises are not owned wholly by the charity, unless the improvements or buildings are such that they can be transferred to a new premises
 
Application Procedure
1)Applications are considered once a year, usually in July.
2)Applications must be submitted by 31st March in the relevant year on the ADT Application Form.
3)Please ensure sufficient postage is put on the packet. Do not send by Recorded Delivery or Registered Post.
4)Receipt of applications will only be acknowledged if a stamped self-addressed envelope is sent with the application. Allow 14 days for receipt of this and keep a copy of all documentation in case of loss.
5)Organisations are usually notified of the results of their application in August of the relevant year.The ADT will not enter into further communication.
6)In the event of a grant being made, the official form of receipt must be signed and returned to the ADT upon receipt of the payment.
7)In exceptional circumstances emergency applications can be considered at short notice throughout the year.
 
Reports
A full report and supporting photographs (if appropriate) of the project should be submitted by 31st March of the year following the giving of the grant. Future applications may not be considered if these requirements are not fulfilled.
 
Changes to Terms and Conditions
The ADT reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
